1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store information about your visit. Similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels, and SDKs) work the same way for our purposes. In this Policy, "cookies" refers to all of these technologies.

2. How We Use Cookies

3. Your Choices

3.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit nota.uno, a consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize your preferences by category. You can change your choices anytime via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.

3.2 Browser Controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break the Service.

3.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor GPC signals from your browser as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California law.

3.4 Advertising Opt-Outs

You can opt out of personalized advertising through:

  • Google: adssettings.google.com
  • Meta: facebook.com/settings → Ads
  • TikTok: tiktok.com → Settings → Ads
  • Industry tools: youradchoices.ca (Canada), youradchoices.com (US), youronlinechoices.eu (EU)

3.5 Paid Subscribers

Free-tier users see ads. Pro subscribers do not see ads, and advertising/targeting cookies are not loaded for them.

4. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry standard for honoring DNT, so the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) as described above.

5. International Users

5.1 EEA/UK

We ask for explicit, opt-in consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent anytime. Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy Directive.

5.2 Canada (PIPEDA + Quebec Law 25)

We rely on implied consent for strictly necessary cookies and explicit consent for analytics, advertising, and targeting cookies. Quebec residents may exercise rights under Law 25 by emailing privacy@nota.uno.

5.3 California (CCPA/CPRA)

Certain advertising cookies may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California law. Use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option in our consent banner to opt out.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as our use of cookies evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated via the consent banner.
